General Program Questions

  • The purpose of this trip is to train and equip future leaders and missionaries. Students will receive hands-on, practical training and personal mentoring in a cross-cultural setting—learning not only about missions, but how to live it.   • Eligibility:

    • Currently enrolled in a college or university

    • Minimum age: 19

    • Valid passport required

    • Must be able to travel independently

    Not enrolled? No problem—if you’re between 19 and 25, you’re still eligible to apply.

  • · Mornings: Classroom sessions covering the theology and history of missions, along with practical training on how to engage in missions today.

    · Afternoons: Hands-on ministry with local churches and university students. Since English is taught widely in Chile, students will have abundant opportunities for English conversation outreach and gospel sharing.

  • The trip includes 14 days on the ground in Santiago.

    · Arrival: Morning of May 19

    · Departure: Evening of June 2

  • Yes. The course component is eligible for college credit through Boyce College, an accredited institution of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

  • Space is limited to 20 students nationwide to ensure a strong community and meaningful mentoring experience.

  • Yes. Groups will depart from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX and Louisville, KY, each led by GlobalGrace staff or interns. Students may also choose to travel independently and meet the team in Santiago.

  • Students will engage in university campus conversation groups, short English practice sessions, and local church ministries throughout Santiago. All activities are coordinated in partnership with missionaries and local believers already serving on the ground.

Travel & Logistics Questions

  • GlobalGrace groups will depart from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Louisville, KY.

  • Yes. You may travel independently and meet the team in Santiago.

  • Students book their own flights. If you choose to travel with a group, GlobalGrace staff can assist with flight coordination.

  • A valid passport is required. U.S. citizens do not need a visa for Chile. Non-U.S. participants should check visa requirements for their country of citizenship.

  • GlobalGrace staff will meet all students upon arrival at the Santiago International Airport. You’ll receive specific meeting instructions once flight details are confirmed.

  • Remember—it’s autumn in the Southern Hemisphere during May and June. Pack light layers and modest, university-appropriate clothing. Chileans typically wear darker colors. A detailed packing list will be provided.

Cost and Financial Questions

  • Program Cost Overview

    · $50 deposit (non-refundable)

    · Tuition: $1,400 (to be paid to Boyce College) if you choose to take the course offering for credit.

    · In-Country Expenses: $2,200 (includes housing, meals, and all local travel and excursions)

    · Airfare: You’ll book your own flight to Santiago, Chile

  • Personal expenses only—such as souvenirs or meals eaten outside the provided plan. All essential costs are covered.

  • Yes.  A limited number of scholarships are available, so we encourage early applications.  We will give fundraising guidance as well.

  • · Application Fee: $50

    · 1st Payment: One-third due January 15

    · 2nd Payment: One-third due March 15

    · Final Payment: Remaining balance due May 1

  • Yes. All contributions made toward a student’s program fees are fully tax-deductible.

Safety & Accommodation Questions

  • Students will stay in supervised VRBO housing throughout the city, with GlobalGrace leadership assigned to each home.

  • Students will share rooms with one roommate. Living together is an important part of learning to serve cross-culturally and in community.

  • Yes. Santiago is one of the safest major cities in Latin America.

  • You’ll enjoy local Chilean meals that are similar in style to North American food. Occasional group meals and local dining experiences will be included.

  • All participants are covered by international medical and evacuation insurance during the trip. Santiago offers excellent healthcare facilities should medical attention be needed.

  • GlobalGrace staff are trained and prepared to respond immediately to any emergency situation on the ground.

  • Yes—and it is already provided as part of your program fee.

  • No vaccinations are required for entry into Chile.
